Yet another good blanket!

I made this for my husbands missionary companions neighbor. So as usual, it was up to me to choose the fabric, etc. I decided to try a store called "Scrap Apple Quilts." And lo and behold, they had all the fabrics that I would order from ebay and more. I am going back for sure if another order request comes up. lol.

I am starting to put batting in my blankets now because it is getting chilly out there. And when I get a washer/dryer, I will start preshrinking the fabrics. Recently, I found out that cotton shrinks in dryer. I just think of all those people I made blankets for and wonder if theirs' ever shrunk. I apologize for that. We all learn from our mistakes.

Back into the swing of things

"McKenzie Muir" blanket with batting with embroidery

It's been awhile since I have taken any orders but now that I have moved and settled in and most of all have a new sewing machine that does embroidery, it's like a dream come true! Here is my first embroidery project and more to follow.

2 different styles of burp cloths

Onesie with chameleon applique.

Here is the set: Blanket, onesie & 2 burp cloths!

This is for my cousin Jenny's baby boy "Isaac Maire". Just gotta mail it to NZ.
I appliqued the Chameleon to the blanket. I must say I did a good job for first try.
I love this chameleon print..very cute!

This blanket looks good enough to eat! Reminds me of icecream.
I added some batting inside since she lives in really cold weather.

Creativity needs a place

My personal blog is getting overloaded with stuff that I sew for friends and family. So it needs a place of it's own. "RetroBubz" is the name I hope to name my business if it ever takes off. Recently, I have created a passion for sewing things especially for babies and moms. It is so rewarding to make something the best you can & blessing the lives of others with it. I hope to try more things in the future but for now I am busy with sewing nursing covers and baby chenille blankets as a set for they are quite popular right now. At this moment I am also adding my personalized name designs to the blankets & hope to in the future be able to afford an Embroidery sewing machine so I can improve the quality of my designs.

This blog is mainly for putting up my sewing projects that I can refer people to when they have a difficult time choosing fabrics. It will hopefully inspire them. If you wish to place an order or inquire about anything, feel free to email me
